Learning More about How Your Child Grows and Thinks

As first-time parents, you might be nervous about caring for your little one. You wonder what you should to foster a loving and nurturing environment. You might worry you are doing something wrong or that your child is behind the important milestones in his or her life.

Rather than allow your fears to fester in your mind, you can get the information you need to know that you are doing parenting the right way. You can find out more about childhood development, montessori sensitive periods , and what it takes to do parenting the right way today by visiting the website today.

Discovering Sensitive Periods in a Child's Life

Childhood is a time of growing and discovering. Some parts of your child's life will be more sensitive to stimuli than others. During these times, your child may retain impressions that he or she picks up from the environment around him or her. Certain moments in life, whether they be good or bad, stick in your child's memory and become a part of who he or she turns out to be later in life.

It is understandable then that you want to find out what these sensitive periods are so you can make sure your child's life is as positive and happy as possible. The website goes into detail about a child's development and particularly about the sensitive years as your child grows up. Using this information, you can come up with a parenting plan that will help your child become a happy, well-adjusted, and engaging person later in life.

The information also serves to remind you that you are not a bad parent and that sometimes you cannot help but make a few mistakes here and there. Your child will still turn out fine. This information is just as much for parents as it is about the kids they will raise.

Raising a child may seem like a precarious and challenging endeavor. You can put your mind at ease while still devising a good parenting plan by reading the section on the website.

End of the Kids’ Vacation

Summer has passed and now rainy season is taking over the hot and humid temperature of the year. With the coming of the rain the kids’ school break has come to an end as well. My own son and daughters have mixed emotions about the end of their vacation and the coming school year. They’re sad that rest days are over and they will wake up very early again but excited as well because they’ll get to see their school friends again after more than two months.

The kids only have memories now of their happy school break when they’re so excited about the beginner guitar available at Musicians Friend at the start of their vacation. They want it so badly that they thought of taking a summer job to save for a new guitar. Kids are so fond of musical instruments that they want to work to be able to buy the instrument they love so much.

Josh’ Talents and Skills

School is nearing the end of the first quarter and I’m wondering how my boy will be ranked. His adviser has some good remarks on him being always attentive and fast in understanding their lessons. He’s the leader in some of his subjects and he doesn’t have any problems on his assignments and projects. I’m just not comfortable with him being so cool and relaxed as he’s also like that last year when he didn’t qualify in the honor roll. Anyway competition is really tough now as they’re all chosen and ranked according to their grades and I assume they’re all outstanding in their former years.

We actually don’t pressure him to be in the top 5 but we always remind him to maintain his grade so he will not fall under the stratified sections, as of now he’s in the first stratified section which is the cream or pilot section after the Science class. We just enrolled him in the public school because it’s more competitive and my husband will be teaching there too hopefully next year. It’s better if Josh will be in the same school as his Dad so he can be well monitored and taken care of. He’s turning 13 next month but he’s still such a young boy in some of his ways.

One thing I like about him is his very smart moves and thinking being so wizard-like when it comes to computers especially in codes and in some mobile software. He just learns it all by himself, always researching about things and absorbs data so fast you will wonder if he’s really 12 only. He’s also crazy about drawing cartoon images and playing musical instruments. His favorite instrument is keyboards and told me about kurzweil keyboards at wwbw.com which he fancies. My little boy turned bigger boy is growing up very skilled, talented and interested in everything that challenges him including writing journals. Now I’m taking extra effort in teaching and guiding him on whatever he wants to learn and things he puts his mind on so he can be the best of what he wants to be in the future.

Discovering Child’s Skills and Talents

A child needs to discover his skills and talents so at an early age he could improve it to his best advantage. Sometimes it takes another person to discern your hidden talents and you’re lucky if someone will be able to learn it early in time. Well most often the school helps in realizing each child’s capabilities and with the influence of teachers they’re motivated to enhance it. In music there are various ways of doing it like enrolling your kid in a music workshop or letting your kid choose what he wants to play.

Parents can actually see it when their child’s eyes lit up upon seeing particular musical instruments. For boys it’s always drums and guitars that impress them quite often. Sometimes it’s because someone has endorsed a certain instrument like when Joe Satriani did with Ibanez. Anyway whatever and whoever told them what kind of instrument to play it’s always their instincts and penchant that will lead them to what they’re going to play. Not to mention that genes has a something of importance also. Love for music often runs in the blood also.

Letting Go of Home Stuff

When we cleaned the house after the flood we ensured that we conduct an inventory of things that we need and those that we can let go in order to limit the appliances, furniture and accessories that we always have to save and store in our upper floor every time there’s an oncoming floodstorm. It’s so tasking and difficult for us to return everything into normal arrangement.

Anyway it includes the musical accessories that my kids collect in the house. When they listed down the things that they will let go I saw that they will still keep the guitar case even though they plan on buying another one like that of gator deluxe abs electric guitar case. They really wanted a replacement case but I told them that each model has its own case and the one that they like is exclusive for that particular model only. Now they whispered to me that maybe we should start saving for the electric guitar. I almost laugh my heart out.

5 Gift Ideas for Your Crafty Kids

Kids of all ages love to make things. Whether they are using remnants or building blocks, children take absolute delight in creating something. They get so much satisfaction and excitement from their finished project. Imagination and expression is a very important aspect of a child’s development. By expressing themselves creatively, they will attain a sense of achievement. Gifts made by children are something that will be greatly appreciated and treasured.

Calendar

Use a rigid piece of cardboard and attach a 12 month calendar to the lower half. Then get your child to draw a picture around the calendar. Attach a loop for hanging the calendar. This is a great Christmas present.

Bath salts

Recycle a nice glass jar. Decorate the lid with stickers or paint. To make bath salts, add food colouring and essential oil or perfume to Epsom salts. Mix well to distribute colour and spread mixture out on a sheet of baking or wax paper to dry for a couple of hours. Make enough to fill the jar. Tie a ribbon around the jar and you have a great gift of bath salts.

Bookmarks

Take a length of ribbon a bit longer than a book page. Knot at each end of the ribbon, beads, buttons or charms. This is a great way to mark a page of a book.

Hand prints

Paint the palm side of your child’s hand in a bright non-toxic colour and then press the hand firmly onto a paper plate. Let the paint dry completely. Attach a loop to the top of the plate for hanging and the outer edge or bottom of the plate can also be decorated with ribbon. With permanent marker, you may like to write the date and child’s name on the plate.

Love Box

This is a great present for grandparents, parents or aunts and uncles. Choose a tin, jar or box with a lid. Decorate the outside and glue a small picture of your child on the lid. Use the computer or handwrite sayings relevant to the person receiving the gift. They can be things like ‘I love it when you visit’ or ‘I love you reading stories to me’. Cut into strips and fold roughly and place in a decorated container. Small hand drawn pictures or small photos can also be added. Make sure to include one strip of paper with the date that this gift was made. These boxes will create many happy memories.

Making crafts is a hobby started young that will take you into adulthood. As your age progresses, so will your skills. Starting crafty activities at a young age will teach children how to use glue, scissors and will encourage their creative mind. Crafty kids would also enjoy having their own self inking stamps. Custom rubber stamps can be ordered online from websites such as Vistaprint, and you can have them personalized with your child’s name or for younger children, stamps of their favourite things, such as flowers or shapes, will make it easier for them to do crafty activities.

Using Attractive Sticky Notes to Teach Reading

Having a hard time teaching your kindergarten kid to read?  Well you can try doing it like the picture shown here.  Little kids are known to react to teaching when you use visual presentation than just saying it.  I also did this to my little boy when he was in preparatory school doing some nice small notes and sticking it to our wall so he'll be familiar with the words.  Anyway it's not hard for me as my little boy loves learning words and it's actually fun for him.

Kids' Sunday School Activities - Nativity Stick

My little boy is very busy with his school projects and sometimes he brings it home to finish.  Hard as it seems those activities tends to harness their imaginary and artistic skills which is good for primary students like Josh.  He's always thinking of something nice to draw and when he draws I see his eyes twinkling with excitement with the ideas that he's creating.  He has really improved a lot from the 3-year old little boy who can't draw an apple on his first day of school.

He started schooling with a very intellectual and bright mind knowing all the alphabets at 3 and can read short words at the first day of schooling but his hands are weak in drawing. Seeing him now finishing an artistic pencil drawing of houses and nature themes in his sketch pad made me so thankful that God has helped him a lot. He wanted to be an architect someday and as early as now I'm beginning to see my future Architect.

This picture has caught his attention and thought that this might be a good craft activity for our Sunday school activity, educational and just right for the coming holiday season.  Josh is helping me out in preparing lessons and craft activities for Sunday because I'm the scheduled teacher for this week.  He's always looking forward for the times that I'll be their teacher.

Grade 3 School Retreat

My little boy was so happy when he returned from their school retreat. Grade 3 pupils had their 4-hour school retreat today and he brought home some prizes. He was so excited when he reached home before lunch time. He told us that their team won two of the retreat games played by them. They’ve won first place in poster making and another on answering questions. He showed me the mechanical pencil and correction paper prizes for them. He actually didn’t mind if there are prizes or none because the games itself made him happy. He told me that he’s very glad he’s well now because if not he’ll never be as happy as he is today.

Don’t Want to Miss School Activities

LJCS Grade 3 students had their retreat today. I have to get early even when we had few sleep the night before. Josh had severe stomach pain and we thought he’d never make it in their retreat today. We were actually telling him that he’ll never be able to attend the retreat but he firmly told us that it’s not allowable to miss the retreat. I laughed at his serious talk because I find it hard to associate his decision with a 9-year old boy. At the height of his pain he still didn’t want to miss any school activity. Hope he’ll stay the same even when grows up. As early as now I can see a strong personality and high regards in education in my little boy.

Learning the Old School

Josh is playing now and enjoying his weekend after their first quarterly exams. We told him that he can play all day, a gift for his endeavors in diligent studying. Even if we have many PCs at home we never let our kids play non-stop at online games. We believe in real board games, ball games and other educational games so we limit their online time for them to be more creative. Often this modern generation of kids rely mostly on online games and networks to consume most of their time when they’re not in school.

Parents should be aware that it will deprive them of being creative and they would not know the benefits of reading in their daily study life. Even if almost everything is there in Google and in some other online sites it’s also good to teach them how to research in real books and away from computer most of the time. It would help them a lot if they know how to study and learn the way old school did.

My Son’s Costume in School Program

I attended the school activities in my little boy’s school and asked my office that I would take a leave so I can assist my son. He’s one of the participants in the program, one of the representatives in grade 3 level. They’re dressed in white shorts and green shirt representing the color of vegetables and with a hat decorated with different kinds of fruits. At the front of their shirt they were instructed to have picture of foods pinned to represent nutrition month. We were looking for a way to have it pinned securely because Josh is so active that I feared it might fall down.

Well the thought of having lapel pins entered my mind but DH has already pinned the picture with a safety pin. Some has put tape around the picture but as minutes pass by the pictures are hanging with loose tapes. It’s a good decision to use pins whether it’s a safety pin, lapel or any other pin because it secures the picture to the shirt. The program went well and I should say I enjoyed the presentation of young boys and girls. It also brought back memories of my two young teens when they were still in grade school.

Busy with Quarterly Exams

My teen girls are so busy now with reviews for their first quarter exams and they have different time schedule which lasts for two to three hours only. The schedule is meant to give them enough time to prepare for the next day’s exams so after they’ve taken current day exams they will go home immediately and run through the next day’s test. Just now I’ve checked if they’re all at home since I’ll be going to our midweek bible study direct from office. I also told them to text me anything they need for tomorrow so I can drop at the nearest store to buy. My girls can take of their assignments and things needed in school but we’re actually monitoring our little boy because he’s not big enough to prepare all his school requirements.

Kids’ Sweet Treats

The kids are asking me about our Father’s Day celebration and I laughed at them because they’re the ones who are very excited about the occasion and you know why? Because I have collection of vouchers and gift cheques on food stores usually cakes and pizzas and they want to claim them all. Last week we had two boxes of Cellos Doughnuts and they enjoyed every bit of it. I can say that it has the quality of expensive doughnuts and love their presentation and the looks.

Anyway we’re thinking of nice gift for their daddy and some foods for the occasion say a treat like Sharis Berries as the husband has sweet tooth and he’ll surely love the taste. Just wondering if he wants it dark or white as I would want dark one. We all love berries and if dipped in choco and other goodies it would so yummy. Celebrating Father’s special day would be sweeter with this kind of treat. Nice gift for Father’s Day don’t you think?

Learning Photography

My daughter loves taking photos just like me, she looks and moves like me and now she does the things I love most. Some says she’s a mini me and I just laughed at the comments because it’s true. She’s asking me to have my camera repaired so she can use it again to take pictures. She also wants to buy stock of batteries for the camera so she will not run out of battery life whenever she’s shooting. I’m actually searching for affordable ones like duracell procell 9V so as not to affect my budget. Photography is kind of expensive when you really make it a hobby and I better learn how to search for competitive prices of my daughter’s photo needs. I really feel that in years to come she’ll be more photoholic than me.

My Girls’ Preferences

Since it’s holiday today and a long weekend also we had some time to arrange and make some inventory of our clothes and linens. My girls are growing up so fast and it seems like their cabinets are getting smaller for their things. We really have to let go of some things to accommodate more of my new purchases for them. When I search for towels for our beach outing plans I realized that we need to buy some for the teenage girls and they asked me for the softest ones.

My girls have their preference now unlike when they were only kids. When they were just small kids they just leave all things to me like their clothes, linens and other personal things. Now they want to choose their own things even their hankies and towels. I’m glad that I found quality and competitive priced Egyptian cotton towels from The White Company which is incredibly soft and so absorbent. My daughters will be happy to see these towels which are not only comfortable and soft to touch but stylish as well.

Shopping Coupons

Being a mother of 3 kids made me love shopping even more. I love buying variety of nice things for them. It always inspires me to search for good deals and discounts on the things they want for themselves. Now that my two daughters both entered adolescence stage they’re beginning to like the things that I want. We always look forward to the times that we’re together not just playing in the arcade but shopping for clothes, bags and girl accessories.

We also love books and home decors and wish that we can have those hsn coupons to use for our shopping so we can maximize our money to buy more quality but discounted items. I love coupons and I always use some when I’m shopping online for my domain renewals, foodies, bags, shoes, home decors and a lot more. My daughters know this and they would sometimes ask if I have more coupons for their selected items also. As young as they are they already know how to make the most of their earned money and how they can help me save some of mine. I’m so happy that God has given me sweet caring kids to nurture.

Reviewing for Third Periodic Exams

The kids are preparing and reviewing for their third periodic tests and their school time is shortened for three days. I still prepare their lunch before going to office but I just left it on the table so when they arrived from school they will be able to eat immediately. Their time usually lasts for 2-3 hours only and when they arrived home they just eat and review their subjects the whole afternoon. I'm glad that my little boy can now study by himself; he just needs some monitoring from my Mom when he asks for some things that he didn't know. Still we made him some reviewers so he can round it up before the exams.

My two young ladies can take care of themselves when it comes to school projects and even in reviewing for exams. They have preference for areas in the house where they will study. Ruth wanted it in our room as the silence helps her to concentrate on studying. There at the room she will have no distractions on people coming to visit Mom or on noise coming from television. I'm glad she's really serious about her study habits and I would want the younger kids to follow her.

Earlyeducationpros.org Review

Because of the difficult economy, most households can’t afford to be a single-income generating household that both parents have to work to provide for the needs of the children. Because of this, parents have to leave their kids to a CT daycare so someone will look after their kids as both parents goes to work.

It is in a Connecticut day care that kids will spend most of their time and it is the staff and the personnel of the daycare that will ensure the safety of the kids. That is why parents really put so much time and effort in order to look for the best daycare where they can safely leave their kids as they work. They would do research, visit different day cares, ask feedbacks from friends and family and more to ensure that the center were they will leave their kids have the capacity to safely take care of their kids while providing for a place where the kids can learn at the same time and that is what the different CT preschool of Earlyeducationpros.org can do.

Checking the site of Earlyeducationpros.org will give parents information about Tender Care Learning Centers and Apple Tree Children’s Centers that they operate. From the site, parents can get detailed information on the locations of each centers, the different programs that they offer per age group, information about the staff and personnel, process of enrollment, as well as resources for parents to help them with their decision on choosing the best preschool or day care for their kids.

Getting the best childcare while providing for quality early education program is the goal of Bradford Child Care Services. Check out their site now to learn more about them.

Avoiding Separation Anxiety When Sending Your Child To A CT Daycare Center

Tips on how to avoid separation anxiety when sending your child to a CT daycare center.

Separation anxiety is something that all kids go through at one point or another. Many parents have experienced many tears and tantrums from their children whenever they are to be separated from each other. Unfortunately, if you are a working parent, it is inevitable that you will be away from your child for many hours in a day. Some parents find out that sending a child to a CT daycare center might provide stronger separation anxieties with the child because they are also left in an unfamiliar place.

Separation anxiety is not unusual even for kids who are about to go to a CT preschool. Although this is quite normal, there are some things you can do to help ease your child’s separation anxiety and help him overcome it.

·         Do a trial visit. It will be a great help if you do a trial visit to the Connecticut day care center before leaving your child there. Visit the center so that your child will be familiar with the place even just a little bit.
·         Make your child comfortable. It will also help if you try to make your child comfortable before leaving him at the center. Let someone at the center play with your child while you are still there with him.
·         Keep your goodbyes short. The first thing you have to make sure of is that you say goodbye to your child. Never try to distract him and then sneak away when he is busy with something else. Instead, you can hug and kiss your child as you say your goodbyes. Keep it short and do not prolong it even if he has started to cry.
·         Leave then come back. After saying goodbye, leave the center straightaway. Looking back or going back if your child has continued to cry loudly will only make matters worse. Leave immediately after your goodbye rituals but make sure that you come back on the time when you promised your child. This will help your child understand that you will come back even during the times when you need to leave him.
