Letting Go of Home Stuff

When we cleaned the house after the flood we ensured that we conduct an inventory of things that we need and those that we can let go in order to limit the appliances, furniture and accessories that we always have to save and store in our upper floor every time there’s an oncoming floodstorm. It’s so tasking and difficult for us to return everything into normal arrangement. 

Anyway it includes the musical accessories that my kids collect in the house. When they listed down the things that they will let go I saw that they will still keep the guitar case even though they plan on buying another one like that of gator deluxe abs electric guitar case. They really wanted a replacement case but I told them that each model has its own case and the one that they like is exclusive for that particular model only. Now they whispered to me that maybe we should start saving for the electric guitar. I almost laugh my heart out.

Cables sometimes ruin the looks of a good home design and we always find it hard to hide them all. I experience this with our computer area in the house where I always think of ideas on how to minimize the clutter and not-so-good looks of cables for computer, printer and internet.  Sometimes I hide it at the back of the table and some at the back of the printer but nevertheless I can't achieve the clean look.  Those cables are so important to me but the area really looks messy most of the times especially that our desktop computers are for my kids.  

Well just looking at the picture above makes me relax at the sight. With this I don't have to hide the cables I just have to decorate them so instead of looking messy it will add a decorative look to the place.  Such fantastic idea and I will surely do it in my computer room and to other place in the house.  This time my creativity will have to surface so I can think of nice decors for the cable.  You can try it too.

Beautifying Our Home on Mom’s Birthday

When we had our kitchen and dining area renovated last summer we also replaced our seat covers for the two sala sets that we have. It’s also the month of my Mom’s 80th birthday so my sister and I exerted all efforts to please her with regards to home decorating and housekeeping. Preparation for December Camp Fellowship

Since we’re going to Baguio for our December camp meeting I’m now making a list of the things to bring for our four-day stay there. We’ve reserved few months ago in one of the buildings there but changed our mind when a friend of my Mom offered her 3-storey vacation house. It was such a blessing for us as we’re going to spend huge amount of money just for the venue site only. DH, Pastor and 2 others went there last week to check the house and when they finally saw it they’ve decided that it can suffice for our needs. They even saw that the 3rd floor would be ideal for our fellowship service and the other floors have plenty of foambymail latex mattresses for our sleeping beds.

We will just bring extra blankets for extra warmth and buy some basic disposable dining wares so we will not be using the house owner’s things. Since we want to travel light we will buy our groceries and food when we get there as there are plenty of supermarket and stores where we can get all our supplies. We’ll be having common food for all now that we’ve saved a lot of our venue money . All in all we have everything we need this coming December and we just have to continue with saving some of our money so we’ll have enough to spend on our vacation and fellowship. Everyone is excited and looking forward to having our fellowship first time in the summer capital.

My students are very happy that their teachers announced that they will resume classes on Wednesday. It's actually my youngest who is on second grade who told me that their classes are suspended on Monday and Tuesday. I asked him as if I didn't know the holiday and he explained to me that the government has declared the holiday. My brother is in the construction industry and works as the Engineer. In all of the projects that he deals with, he makes sure that he handles all the purchase of materials for his contract projects up to the finishing touches of the house. He's very careful in choosing the kind of material because after all his name is at stake with all his projects. Replacement for the Old Medicine Cabinet

We’re planning for a repainting job on the living room and kitchen as paints are showing some fading signs. We’re now thinking of the color because we just seen the work done by DH siblings on their home in Montalban. Well they’re painting experts and their house is a model of their painting expertise. If we can have our house painted by summer it would be more refreshing to look at. I’m thinking of pastel colors for now but I’m still not decided on the shades.

For the bathroom maybe we’ll just add accessories and cabinets like Robern Medicine cabinet which can organize the soaps, shampoos, medicines and some other things needed in the bathroom. We’ve discarded our old cabinet few years back and we still haven’t replaced it. Also I want a more modern look than our former wood cabinet.
