Blissful Fellowship Vacation in Baguio City

Now that holiday has passed and we’re back to regular life I only have our pictures in the upper cold city to look at to remember our fulfilling vacation a week ago. We always go there during Christmas holidays as it’s the best time of the year when we can allocate longer holidays to have fellowship and vacation as well. It was a very happy occasion for us from the day that we travel in one big bus accommodating all of us to the day that we packed our things back to Manila. It was like a field trip as few people travel like us in great number.

We’ve rented a three-storey house, the same house we’ve stayed for 3 consecutive years now, where we held our fellowship in the morning and where we stayed after our visits to different tourist places in Baguio city. We cooked in the morning before the fellowship and spend lunch time to different restaurants before giving ourselves a taste of our vacation like going to popular spots in the place, enjoying the cold weather and scenic view in the park, buying some souvenirs and delicacies and giving our families the best bonding moments.

The place is perfect not just for relaxation but for enjoying music as well. We brought our guitar and let the music ride with the cool winds. If only we could bring some of our bigger instruments too so we can have complete music like bach trombone, keyboards or drums but we know it’s impossible to do it as we only travel in commercial buses and not in our own cars. Maybe we can just do it in our summer camp as we always held it not so far from our places.

How We Used to Spend New Year

We always spend first day of the year in resorts with the whole church as we want to welcome the year with good vibes. Even the weather is cold we still rent a private resort with swimming pool which the kids loves most because they could have the pool by themselves only with no other group to share with. At times the staff of the resort would fix their pool pumps for better water flow and they would also check if the hot spring is just enough for our needs.

Now that it falls on a Sunday we will be in our home church and have our regular Sunday fellowship. In the afternoon we’ll have our gift giving and we’ll share some of our foods in our New Year’s Eve feast. We just had our four-day vacation in Baguio with our church mates and still we feel happy that we managed to have it through whole year saving of our money. The weather in the upper north is at 14 degrees when we were there and we’re thankful that we were able to visit nice places and stay at the park late at night even if it’s cold. The kids had a blast and we’re all satisfied with our vacation.

Planning Ahead of Time

Holiday season is coming very soon and I’m thinking of how I can manage my time on that month as there are so many things I should do like sending out Photo Christmas Cards, planning holiday meals, packing for our camp meeting, having my friends on my birthday which is 4 days before Christmas and many other things. Month of December has always been my busy month and as early as now I want to plan ahead to avoid the rush fever. I know also that if I’m well ahead of my activities plan I can enjoy the holiday more.

Just Starting to Get Ready for the Holidays

It’s only days before the month ends and two months before the busiest holiday of the year. I noticed here in our community that people are only starting to shop for artificial christmas tree and decors unlike the past years that they started decorating at the start of BER months at the first days of September. People are getting more economical and thrifty these days that they opt to spend their money first on the second semester tuition fees of their kids before shopping for Christmas decorations. It’s also the election of barangay officials and youth here so that’s maybe one of the reasons why they delayed the festive start of Christmas holiday.

Opening of Classes Moved to June 15

The news came to me as ordinary one as I'm so used with moving of holiday and I have a private joke that if they can move the New Year holiday maybe they will do so. But how can you move its date without changing the words lol! So for me New Year is the only holiday that they can't change. I know that they still haven't had the courage to change Christmas Day for some fears I think! Now I'm looking forward to a more consistent dates of holidays in the Philippines with the new President. Hoping...

Well now the Independence Day which for me should not be moved because it's one of the most precious occasion for the Filipinos has been moved again into the 14th day so opening of classes was adjusted too! I'm still waiting for CHEd if there's a change in College' opening of classes!

Here's an excerpt from the newspaper:

Manila Bulletin

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that classes in all public schools have been moved from June 14 to June 15 (Tuesday) to give way to the celebration of the 112th Independence Day. Education Secretary Mona Valisno said the holiday for Independence Day has been moved from June 12 to 14 by MalacaƱang in accordance with Republic Act No. 9492. Under the law, holidays, except those religious in nature, are moved to the nearest Monday. Valisno said that the June 15 opening is mandatory for all public schools nationwide, but not necessarily for private schools. "They (private schools) may have a different school opening so long as they comply with the minimum number of class days for the entire school year and they notify the local DepEd Division Office of the date of their class opening," she explained. Still, according to her, private schools may deviate from the June 15 opening, provided that they do not start classes earlier than the first Monday of June or later than the last day of August. ...........

Holiday Getaway

Holidays are coming soon in a few days but it’s actually starting with Christmas parties, family reunions, never-ending line in mall stores, children singing Christmas carols at the front of our houses and glittering lights and decors all over the place. It’s really festive everywhere and people seems to rush on shopping for clothes, appliances and food. They never seem to get enough of things to prepare on midnight dinner. All these things are happening every year and sometimes I get tired with sore feet, traffic jam and hectic schedule of fitting into all holiday activities. I’m just glad that we have our camp meeting fellowship every holidays which we held in faraway place in provinces away from the busy bustling city. Some people planned their vacation during holidays and they go to beautiful resort like Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort where they can rest and relax and be free from traditional activities which is sometimes stressful.

Don’t conclude that I don’t want holidays because I really like it because it’s also near my birthday but I just don’t want the hustle and bustle brought about by this favorite season of the year. I’m also a part of the frenzied buyers sometimes but I hate having sore feet and being dizzy on rounding up big malls. It’s really good sometimes to just spend the holidays on one of the places beside the beach like Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels which offers comfort and luxury accommodation to their guests. It’s great having the whole family with you enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean on one of the lavish condo resorts of Towers on the Grove. This new condominium resort offers bedroom condos perfect for holiday getaway of families, couples or even group of friends. Having your vacation here is one thing that you’ll remember for a long time as you’ll have a great time enjoying the beauty of the oceanfront and luxury accommodation of Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel, perfect for a relaxing stress-free vacation you’ve been planning for.

Now it’s not only luxury, comfort and beauty that you’ll experience there as Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts offers specials and packages without costing you so much with manager’s special rates this December. With activities that will enhance your vacation enjoyment you’re sure to take advantage of enchanted sailing charters and executive helicopter tours, well this is really good for those who loves sailing and seeing magnificent views from helicopter. For me I love their romance package series where coupes can enjoy a romantic and relaxing vacation with spa with free chocolates, champagne and flowers on the side. Will surely love having them on our arrival if ever I’ll have the chance to plan a cozy vacation there. For now I’ll just enjoy my holidays on our local resort here.

Make Them Happy with NFL Jerseys Gifts

I’ve almost completed my list of gifts this coming holiday season and though I’m having second thoughts on other gift ideas I think I’ll go on with it as I don’t have enough time to change it. It’s easier to think of gifts for girls as they have plenty of things to choose from. I can give dress for the tots, toys for the toddlers and blouses and gadgets for the young girls. When it comes to boys you only have few things to choose from so if you really find it hard to think maybe a set of NFL Jerseys would be so right for them especially if they’re aged from 4-10 years old. It’s even more exciting if they love sports and a fan of one of the teams like Philadelphia Eagles.

I’m sure no kid will resist receiving a complete set of NFL uniform set with jersey, pants, helmet, adjustable chin straps, face mask and more. The whole set costs $39.99 and to display his NFL uniform set you can also give him an NFL Fan Locker and avail of the blowout sale which marked down its price at $79.99 from its original cost of $129.99. Great savings while making the kids happy with the complete outfit and locker. It really feels good to give love and gifts on Christmas!
