Japanese Home Decoration

I’m used to seeing stylish interiors in many of my brother’s residential projects and I also visits furniture stores a lot because I love decorating homes and planning my own future home. Kotatsu is where they meet, talk, eat and bond as a family. Then you’ll notice that they’re fond of having floor mats called tatami made of woven straw in several of their rooms in which Japanese step without their shoes.

Have you ever thought of using your beautiful curtain rod into something that could be used for hanging picture frames?  Well I did but after seeing creative ideas like this one posted above. I remember arranging my children's graduation pictures in our living room wall and after some weeks some of them just fell on the floor.  The glass frames are broken and we have to buy frames again to restore the framed pictures.

Looking at the curtain rod holding the picture frames I observe that it holds more securely than just hooking the frames to walls.  You can also add some creativity in designing the ribbon that will be used in tying up the frames into the curtain rod.  Love how it looks above as I also have 2 girls and 1 boy just like the kids in frames. Do you love wind chimes? I do and I'm very fond of collecting them.  I have some as souvenirs from friends and I keep them all no matter how old the chimes are.  My favorite is the chimes from Cebu made of various colors of capiz materials shaped into variety of fishes.  Another is made of steel with love birds on top which chimes so beautifully especially when there's breeze.

Well all of my chimes were bought from certain places and not one of them were home made.  Now I just happened to pass by this concept of using bottle caps as wind chimes.  I find so nice as it's not only functional and unique but inexpensive as well.  You don't need a lot of money to do it.  One must only need patience and style and wind chimes will be on it's way.  So creative!

With the latest renovation made in our kitchen we decided to put away curtains for safety purposes because we have placed the gas range oven in the way of the curtains.  My BIL who did all the good makeover works in the kitchen did some work of art in the clear windows to make it look like painted windows protecting us from intruders seeing us from outside.

Well I still miss having curtains as the small kitchen windows looks bare and when I saw this idea I suddenly imagined myself doing this on my own.  Just imagination because I still have to look for pretty pottery cups.  Thanks to funky junk interiors.

Home Decors- Electric Oil Burner

As I grew up with a mother who is known for being such an excellent home economics grade school teacher I was trained early in home making. I was actually one of my Mom's students in my primary home economics subject and tried my best to excel to make her proud of me. Anyway best or not my Mom is always proud of us and all my best efforts are stars to her. Every day when I walk on my way to home from my office I pass by megamall place where I always like to see the beautiful huge water walls. Whenever I see those water fountains I feel relaxed and refreshed and my tiredness from work seems to fade away a bit. I was thinking that if I could possibly have the same kind at home maybe I’ll be able to be more productive with my writing. 

Well these water walls especially those kenroy home water fountains can be a perfect piece of decor to any home and a good way to achieve serene environment as well. I really love to have those water walls and if I’ll have the budget for it I know that it will make my days calm and peaceful.

Beautifying Our Home on Mom’s Birthday

When we had our kitchen and dining area renovated last summer we also replaced our seat covers for the two sala sets that we have. It’s also the month of my Mom’s 80th birthday so my sister and I exerted all efforts to please her with regards to home decorating and housekeeping. She was delighted when the new custom-made sofa cover arrived at the house together with the new curtains and especially-designed velvet throw pillows which accentuate the living room. 

Even if Mom’s birthday was celebrated somewhere else we still made our house as presentable as ever for her visitors and some of our relatives who were not able to come with us on buffet restaurant. My siblings and I agreed on having it somewhere else because I didn’t want to cook for many people then. We also wanted to just relax, dine and enjoy our Mom on her 80th birthday.
