DIY Book Lamp

Source: weheartit.com via Race on Pinterest

Want something functional and yet affordable?  Well this isn't at all expensive because you only choose some of your old books to form the body of the lamp then put on the regular lamp we used to have.  For the students it will always remind them to read their books daily even without assignment and for others who just find the need to use the lamp.

This is quite unique, very functional, creative and of course nice idea for families with flair for reading.  Might consider doing one of this kind.  I'm sure the kids will love it and the idea of the book lamp.  There are so many things that we can make out of our old and unused things.  We just have to be creative and keen to designs.

Book Cases Around Sofa

Source: google.com via Race on Pinterest

Many of the modern homes today don't have spacious area like those condominiums I see on TV advertisement or even on the brochures that I receive every now and then. They only maximize their home area and come up with smart designs that could help save spaces. Well I've seen many designs and they all come up to expectations.

When I saw how people would think of bright ideas that would liven up all parts of the house and apply techniques on using every space of the house. Looking at the pic above you'll see a comfortable sofa surrounded by book cases. Just look at how the designer used all available space to avoid clutter and at the same create a place to store books that you frequently read. So functional yet very nice also..

Christian Bible Book Store

When we want to know God’s plan for us our Bible is a perfect instrument to read to help you understand His will. For several years now the Bible has helped me a lot in searching for God’s words that will guide and protect me and my family in our daily living. Together with prayers it has become our powerful tool in conquering our weaknesses, failures and everything that rob us of our strength in facing daily struggles in life. It’s also our reading companion in searching through phrases that are both inspirational and fulfilling.

For me Bible is a holy book that documented the life of Jesus Christ, his teachings and how He redeemed us. By reading it you’ll know God’s creation of mankind and how He has made everything in good order for the mankind. I love reading it from the Old Testament all through the New Testament because it all depicts how God’s love for mankind is immeasurable. The book has all the right answers to my quests which keep me always onto the right track of life.

As I’ve been using the Bible continuously for more than 20 years now I collected various kinds to help me through searching for verses and for reading the words of God. When I buy or look for the kind that I need I usually go to my favorite Christian Bible book store to select from their wide variety of stocks of bible in varied languages and other interesting products. When I go there it keeps me very occupied with their Bible variations that sometimes I lose track of time.

Well if you also want to enjoy such kinds you can visit Bible Expo and Gifts, the home of bibles for almost all languages in the world. You’ll learn about their Bilingual Bibles like the New French and English parallel and other languages in order to choose the language you know or you prefer to read in. The two languages are written side by side for easy read-along. They also offer large print Bible, Spanish Bilingual Bible, Concordance, Bible dictionary, Hebrew, Greek and a lot more.

Today I Will Be Master of My Emotions

Today I will be master of my emotions.
The tides advance; the tides recede. Winter goes and summer
comes.. Summer wanes and the cold increases.
The sun rises; the sun sets ...
All nature is a circle of moods and I am a part of nature and so,
like the tides, my moods will rise; my moods will fall.
It is one of nature's tricks, little understood, that each day I
awaken with moods that have changed from yesterday.
Yesterday's joy will become tomorrow's sadness; yet today's
sadness will grow into tomorrow's joy.
Inside me is a wheel, turning from sadness to joy,
from exultation to depression, from happiness to melancholy....
Today I will be master of my emotions.

Just sharing here some one of my reads from OG MANDINO. We can all be master of our emotions if we choose it to be but if we just let our emotions control our lives we're not sure if we're heading to the right direction. Emotions can lead us to wrong decisions sometimes so we must control and master it.

Inspirational God Books

I met God in my life at the time that I was seeking a deeper relationship with Him. I attend mass every Sunday but I feel no deep insight what God has planned for me, it’s like going to church as an obligation. There was no fellowship as I don’t know the person beside me and everything was like a tradition until I met God. God used my brother to share His wonderful words to me and throughout the 3 months that we shared God’s word it finally dawned on me that I need God in my life more than ever. I was revived in the spirit and the empty space inside my heart was filled with gladness of having God in my life.

I started to join my brother’s church fellowship and was baptized after a month. It wasn’t an easy step for me because when I left the religion that I was born into I encountered difficulties and persecutions. I didn’t let those things discouraged me from going on and from that day onwards I’m still at my feet serving God. My life was transformed from a blank future to a well secured life, from reading romance and wisdom books to religious books, from hanging out with office friends to staying in the church’ bible study, from spending my money on material things to saving some of it for our camp meeting fellowship and outreach ministry.

Although I’m not perfect I tried to live a life centered on God’s fellowship. God has changed many things about me and I’m so glad He had because the old me is not worthy to be called a Christian. Reading God books has helped me see life in a different perspective and it also changed most of my bad attitudes. The Holy Bible made me see how God showed His grace, mercy and compassion to His children. The different books in the bible can be a pattern to our lives also as it shows how our brethren in the old times has lived and turned to God for help.

The stories showed how they learn from their mistakes and how God has forgiven them. It tells a lot about the teachings Jesus has shared to His disciples. It’s really good to be with God’s presence that even if you have problems you’re confident that there is someone who will help and guide you no matter what. Now with the modern technology we have now we can read teachings and messages online like what Bob Fraley Christian Life Outreach is doing. They’re sharing God’s word all over the world and helping the people in Africa. Visit their site for some inspirational books!

:WW - Books

We were waiting for the interviewer in Gen's application for scholarship when my eyes lingered on this somewhat comic version of librarian carrying big books. Even if the load is obviously heavy he seems happy with what he's doing. And who wouldn't happy with working with books everywhere. As I love books it would be a delightful thought!

Happy WW, see my other entry of painting depicting education.
