What You Can Do to Stay Safe This Summer

Summer is in full swing, and there are plenty of exciting adventures waiting. While it’s important to relax and have fun over the next couple of months, you shouldn’t neglect basic safety precautions. Whether you hit the beach or head overseas for a family vacation, make sure that you’re taking care of yourself in the warm weather. These tips can help you stay safe throughout the entire summer.

Watch Out for Pests

Summer is the season of ticks and mosquitoes, and they can become rampant if you’re not careful. The safest way to eliminate pests from your property is to use an all natural tick and mosquito control product. Using a natural repellent can ensure that everyone in your home remains safe, including any pets you may have. With the help of a reliable pest control product, mosquitoes and ticks can stop plaguing your property.

Apply Sunscreen

Before you go out and enjoy the sun, don’t forget to apply enough sunscreen. Unprotected exposure to the sun can cause skin damage and illness. Taking the simple step of applying sunscreen can help you maintain healthy skin and allow you to enjoy spending time outside risk-free.

Drink Water

Drinking enough water is crucial to summer safety. Even if you don’t feel thirsty, be sure to stay hydrated, especially while spending time outside. Failing to drink enough water in hot weather can put you at risk of dehydration. To stay healthy and energized throughout the day, always carry a water bottle with you.

Stay Near Air Conditioning

Getting fresh air is important, but don’t stay in direct sunlight for too long. If you’re dealing with extreme temperatures, take breaks from the heat and stay in air-conditioned locations as much as you can. Giving your body the chance to cool down is vital to your safety and comfort.
Summer can be even more enjoyable when you take simple safety guidelines into account. Remember these tips and make the most of the warm weather.

Three Ways to Support Your Friend Who's Expecting

It's no secret that adulthood can be really complicated. Most days, adulthood feels like a big juggling act. The way responsibilities pile up can leave a lot of people focused on putting out fires. As a result, friendships and meaningful connections suffer. This is unfortunate because some of the most beautiful moments happen during adulthood. Weddings, housewarmings and job promotions are just a few of those beautiful experiences. However, one of the most monumental experiences happens when a friend is adding a new person to their family. Whether you're really busy or really broke, there are still ways you can support your friend who's expecting. Consider the following ideas.

1. Offer to come with her to an appointment or two.
If her partner can't come with her to one of her appointments, offer to take her. If she has an appointment with her midwife, offer to give her a ride to her licensed birth center tampa bay. When you're going through the process of preparing for a baby, it's nice to know that someone is there to hold your hand through the experience. Even if you're only able to be there for one or two appointments, that's still really awesome.

2. Visit her at home.
Give her a call to find out if she has time for a visit. Many people underestimate the toll pregnancy takes on a woman's body. If she hasn't gotten the nursery ready yet and needs to declutter, offer to declutter for her. She might decide that she'd just like some company to have a nice conversation and a meal with. Your company and a home-cooked meal might mean the world to her in such a hectic season of her life.

3. Create a community to help her.
Find out what the expecting mother's diet is. If she is allergic to a specific food, avoid preparing a dish that contains that ingredient. However, you can make a bigger impact by involving other friends into the mix. Talk to the friends within your circle to see if they'd be willing to take turns dropping food by every few days. When you all create a schedule, you'll be able to help your expecting friend once she's given birth and is getting adjusted to life with a new baby.
