How To Become a Better Equestrian

The bond between a horse and a rider is unique. You trust your horse to keep you safe while riding and your pet trusts you to communicate gently. Whether you are a new rider of you have been participating in the sport for years, you can always improve your skills. Here are three habits you can incorporate to become a better rider.

Work On Your Balance

You have to have good balance to ride a horse properly. You may want to practice balancing by riding bareback. You can also ride over cavaletti or practice jumping. If you choose to improve your balance while jumping, you should invest in some high-quality horse jump cups.

Try Out Different Horses

It is easy to become comfortable on your favorite horse. You become accustomed to his habits and disposition so you know how to handle him when he acts up. However, it is important to remember that just because you know how to handle one horse appropriately doesn’t mean you are a great rider. You should try out different horses so you can improve your skills. As a beginner, you will likely need a calm mount while experienced riders should graduate to more high-strung mounts that provide more of a challenge.

Practice Different Disciplines

Different riding disciplines require separate skills so if you want to improve as a rider, it is a good idea to practice multiple riding activities. If you are most comfortable jumping, you may want to try our dressage. If you’re a barrel racer, try pole bending to enhance your skills. You may even want to try an entirely new discipline and try riding Western-style instead of English.

You should always strive to improve your skills in any sport you practice. These three tips can help you improve your skills as a horseback rider.

My Hunter Cousin

My cousin loves hunting in the forest ever since I was a kid and I wonder if he’s still active in his hobby now that he’s already a grandfather. I’m really interested to know but I’m living far from him as he’s living on my Mom’s hometown and I’m based here in my father’s town. My friend wanted to know about things like bushnell rifle scopes and some other hunting essentials and I know my cousin can answer easily all his questions. My friend is a hobbyist also and when he learned that I have a cousin who hunts birds and other of that kind he became interested in meeting him. Now that they still haven’t met each other my friend keeps on asking me questions I don’t know about.

Easy Cash for your Gold

We all have something that we treasure in our lives and this includes our loved ones, our friends, relatives, our personal things and some precious memoirs that we keep until now. Most of us have developed hobbies of collecting things that we fancy about like me who have collected stamps, old coins and stationaries when I was still a kid. It makes me happy to look at my collected favorites and even if I stopped at some of my collections I still continue with my old coins. Just like my cousin who has her jewelry collection since she’s a teen and who have kept them until now that her eldest daughter has already a son.

We each have our own fancies, penchant and preferences which kind we love best. Sometimes my cousin would tell me that she’s grown out of some of her jewelries because they’re not trendy anymore and some were broken. She loves being trendy and want to sell scrap gold jewelry so she can have money to buy replacement for some of her old jewelry. She has no idea how much she can get for those scrap gold. Get the Most Cash from Your Gold Coins

I collect old coins since I was in primary grade and now that I have kids of my own I let them see the coins that we used when we were young. It helped them to imagine the younger days we had then. Actually the hobby started when my Mom gave me a coin that’s dated way back before I was born and I got excited about owning an old coin. Since then every time a coin was replaced by the government by a new one I keep some for myself to add to my collection.

One of my officemate once told me that one of my silver coin collections was being bought at a very high price and she asked me if I want to sell mine. I’m not ready to part with my collections so I didn’t take the money but I was glad to know that my collection was appreciating its value. Now my collection hobby became a little investment too. It’s a small reassurance that if thing get tough and I’ll be needing money I’ll have something that I can fall back on.

For those who want to make money out of their long time collections now is the time as you can sell gold coins to Refinity.com By selling your old gold coins you will not only have money but you can also help protect our planet because Refinity.com is an eco-friendly company that buy old coins and refine it for other usage. It was known to help minimize mining thus reducing the risk of environment hazard. By the way they also buy precious metal and jewelries so if you have collections of those things too you can visit their site and get the most cash out of your collections.

Ruth Loves To Cook

We had a funny and worthwhile Saturday morning when Ruth asked me to demonstrate to her how to cook spaghetti. They will have some cooking sessions in school today and they were asked to cook spaghetti. Ruth got from me my flair for cooking and since she was barely ten years old she started showing some real interest in cooking. When she watched me bake some macaroons she asked to let her the next time we cook and she proved us she can do it. She tried some recipes and desserts including leche flan and lechetin (combined leche flan and gelatin).

I dictated all the ingredients and how to cut or do it for spaghetti. I also taught her how to choose brands and the brands’ effect on the sauce like if it’s H it’s a little sweet and if its’ DM it’s sour. Of course we want H for spaghetti as I’m only using DM for viands. I taught my kid the right way of boiling pasta and the importance of cooking it the right way that even if she uses the ordinary pasta she can make it as firm as the known brands. The secret of delicious spaghetti relies on firm pasta and delicious sauce and of course coupled with a good cook. It’s our family’s favorite that’s why we really cooked it as yummy as possible.

After taking notes and on the spot cooking :-) Ruth learned the whole process. It’s a coincidence also that I’ve planned cooking spaghetti last Saturday. When we finally set the table for breakfast Josh asked for the cake lol! He always wanted to eat pasta with cakes!

The kids asked for the second serving in the afternoon and because we have plenty of sauces Ruth cooked another half kilo of pasta for our snack-dinner, they just can't get enough :-)

Learning Photography

As I’m on vacation from my work and working only once a week I had the time now to study my digital camera and all its features. My Mom was smiling always at me whenever I show her my photos, nice that she can see my shots now unlike the past weeks. I’m reading and viewing photos online and began to learn about different angles of shooting, how to adjust my point and shoot camera for better capture. What I like most are my macro shots especially on my flower pictures which I used for Today’s Flowers meme. My bes JennyL is a good photographer and sometimes I ask her about taking photos. I love visiting her Scraps & Shots blog because you’ll see her beautiful projects there.
