Be Slim Without Being Expensive

My brother asked me last summer if I want to join him in his ten day program of herbal cleansing diet. After the program they will need to buy all-herbal fat burners to support the cleansing diet they went through. I was really convinced because my brother used to have big tummy but now it’s all gone. He needs to drink the herbal tea in the morning then he’ll manage to maintain his physique.

When I asked the price of the fat burners that work for him I was astounded because it was so expensive. I smiled and laughed then told my brother that with the high price of his fat burners I will just buy plenty of fruits for my semi-cleansing. I would prefer natural foods than tea or pills and those are less expensive. I want to shed off my excess pounds but I want to do it the natural way.

Age Doesn’t Matter

My Auntie in L.A. California married a guy 20 years younger than her and some eyebrows were raised because of the age gap. My Auntie told us that she’s happy with the guy and if we want her to be happy we should welcome the guy into the family. That was 30 years ago when I was only a teenager and now we learned that they still happy living together. They’re so perfect for the common phrase that age doesn’t matter. Some may have judged them in the past but now seeing them still in love with each other I can say that they really found love. My Auntie who happens to be my godmother also is my Mom’s best friend and she told my Mom that she’s using the best anti aging product so their age gap will not be noticed.

Well based from the pictures that we have of her and her husband they’re really good to look at together. In fairness my Auntie was a beauty when she was young and she’s a very intelligent woman with a good sense of humor. When you happen to know and talk to her you would love her vivacious character. Thinking about her qualities maybe those are the things that her husband saw in her that made him fall deeply in love.

Make Sleeping A Priority

I feel so refreshed whenever I had a good night's sleep and I just read a health news that adults should at least have a minimum of 6 hours sleep in a day to stay healthy. Hmm I feel guilty about this because most of the times I only had 4-5 hours of sleep. Maybe it's time to change my lifestyle because I'm not getting any younger and I don't want to suffer the consequences of not heeding to advices. Here are some tips on prioritizing sleep and rest.

Make a good night's sleep a priority. Look over the tasks you are attempting to accomplish each day. Eliminate some of them from your schedule. You are not a super-person. Not everything you do is absolutely necessary. Stop and think about it. Some things must be done every day, others you can do less often. Cut some things out of your schedule or delegate some of the tasks to another family member.

I Gained Pounds

I stepped up the weighing scale of the hospital and was surprised that I gained 20 pounds since I resigned from my office work last year. I know that I gained weight because of my clothes’ size but I never expected it to be that high. Now I’m asking myself how to lose weight really fast because I only gained that much weight when I gave birth to my little boy. I was not that heavy last summer because I only eat rice on breakfast but due to hectic schedule of my kids’ school errands and blogging until dawn I gained so much in about two months. So this must be the reason why I easily got tired from walking and exercising. I should think of a real diet plan now.

:Looking at the Sky on Friday #94: Sky Over Mall of Asia

Photobucket

This is a shot at the sky over Mall of Asia where you can see the giant globe.  The clouds make a beautiful background for the giant globe which is the landmark of MOA.  I've included the second photo because the clouds are lovelier than the first.  It's actually my first time to go there or to actually go inside the premises of MOA because the first time was with my kids' educational tour in which we only rounded the place.

DH and I had a nice time there meeting up with my college friends after several years that we didn't see each other. Elena came from Canada and requested to see us before she and her family went back to Vancouver, Canada. I love sky watching wherever my cam takes me. It makes me very thankful of God's wonderful creations.  Visit more beautiful sky photos just click on the badge above!

Preparing the Car for the Camp Meeting

We’re preparing ourselves for our yearly December camp meeting fellowship. Lately we had some church meetings reminding us the things we should prepare on our most awaited camp meeting. We have to reserve the usual place we’re staying for three to four days and we’ve saving up for that. Next month our pastor will go to Villa Dominga Forest Resort to pay for our down payment. The owner of the place became our friend after more than 2 years of hiring the place and she wants our group to occupy their place always because when we’re there the villa changes from a lonely to a lively place. They have companions too on Christmas season. It’s a 4-hectare lot and when you’re the only family on a big villa on holidays it feels quite lonely.

Anyway back to preparation, we talked about the basic essentials and our transportation on that event. We will have 6 vehicles to accommodate us all. Last time we’re there we just joined one vehicle because we’re not prepared with our car. We’re not confident that our car will be able to carry us through the long travel. Now we have my brother’s car again and we started gearing it up for the big event on December. We’re checking all that’s important in the car including batteries, brakes, clutch, wiper and some other minor parts. Sometimes December give us rain showers and we’re thinking of having rain guards to make driving through rain more manageable. It’s also safer to have them especially through a zigzag or winding roads which we will be passing through on our travel.

With the accessories that we’ll need I’m canvassing as early as now to avoid rushing through the holiday season. I found CARiD.com which sells automotive accessories online with their superstore based in NJ. You’ll be glad to see automotive products for interior and exterior styling, comfort and performance.

School Preventive Measures

My little boy came home from school last week with notes from the school administration about health awareness. They have written instructions that all students should wear their PE uniform every day until further notice from them. I was alarmed immediately and asked the school administration if there were occurrences of dengue in the school. The school staff told me that it’s only a precautionary measure because kids will be more protected if they wear jogging pants. I’m just making sure that my little boy will not in any way be subject to danger of having dengue. It’s better to have preventive measures than having to incur diseases.

With paranoia about dengue these days and various sickness occurring in the kids I suddenly thought of searching for the best insurance quotes about health. It’s easier to bear sickness if we’re prepared with health insurance which will make our financial burden lighter. Of course with many agencies offering insurances I should get the most affordable so as not to affect my budget.

Here's one pose from my little boy wearing his PE uniform.

Kids Need Guidance

I was talking to my co-Moms who were also waiting for their kids to finish with the journalism competition. We’re sharing about the importance of having the support and guidance of mothers to their kids especially on their adolescent years. One Mom was so sad sharing the life of his neighboor friend who in the midst of too much poverty went abroad to work. She can’t go home for a vacation as often as others because her salary is not that high and her job demands more time with the family she serve for. Now her kids are seen frequenting the mall and smoke shop and no family relative is stern enough to declare discipline on the house.

Both kids of her friend suddenly became so lazy cutting time on their classes and tried to avoid attending them. It’s a pity that their Mom is sacrificing her happiness just to let them live a better life. I know she wants them to finish college too but with the way they’re treating their studies now I don’t think they can even pass secondary education. If only someone would tell their mothers to end her job abroad and take care of her kids before it’s too late.

Found my Buddy in FB

I had a dinner again with my college friends and this time more of them joined in as our meeting place was in Makati where most of them works. We were again back in time especially that my ever loving buddy Betchay finally has found us. We were actually looking for her but she found us out in FB. I really have to thank FB for bridging communications between lost friends. I was so happy that we were reunited again and we talked about our lost years. We have plenty of recaps to do and she told us the story of her life.

She has survived many ordeals and now she has learned many things about life like saving up finances and investing. She’s starting to invest now to secure her finances as she’s financing the education of her siblings’ 10 kids. I forgot to ask her if she knew about gold coins investment because she might be interested to add it to her existing ones. She’s always interested on any form of business or investments that will guarantee a high return of profit because she’s a good businesswoman and she knows how to deal with it.

:Looking at the Sky on Friday #93: Mall Sunset

Photobucket

This is a shot from the mall's parking space last Tuesday when we dropped by to buy our little boy his own pick of toys for his 7th birthday.  We went to Twiddledee in Evet Ortigas and let Josh choose from among the toys there. We arrived at around 5pm and this view greeted us, glad I've brought my cam with me even if my battery is giving me low signals.  I love the small splashes of yellow orange on the grey clouds.

I love sky watching wherever my cam takes me. It makes me very thankful of God's wonderful creations.  Visit more beautiful sky photos just click on the badge above!

The Back to School Test

You Are an Average Achiever

You are fairly driven, but the big win always seems a bit beyond your reach. You lack intense passion.

You are most likely to succeed if you are working with other talented people. You thrive on a team.

Your greatest skill is organization. You are good at laying out a plan and making sure it gets followed.

Your biggest stumbling block in life is your lack of self confidence. You are a lot more capable than you give yourself credit for.

You're so thankful for everything in your life. It's hard for you to pick just one thing.

That's me when I was young, I could have made it more if I'm not that shy.  Well it didn't last for long and after my first job I was ready to face any challenge that came my way.  Since I've overcome my shy attitude I excelled in my jobs and for me that can be called success because I was able to conquer my fears.  I did it with perseverance and a lot of discipline.  If there's one thing that my boss can speak best of me it's my being trustworthy and patience in work.
