He Looks Younger Now!

When I went in to my boss’ other office in DSI where I worked for 10 years I came across my first manager where I’ve worked before I was assigned in the President’s office to do Technical Proposal. He smiled immediately when he saw me and extended his hand even if I’m still few meters away. He retired from project management for two years now and he was just asked by my boss to visit our office for my boss’ new business plan.

He used to be so big that it affects his legs when walking but now I noticed that he can walk with so much ease. It’s all because of his efforts to shed unwanted pounds and he did it successfully. At his old age he can’t take a diet pill without doctor’s advice so for a time he just concentrated on having a well-planned meal diet and easy exercises just enough for his age. True enough he lost some pounds and now he looks younger and healthier. He even joked that I’m the one who is bigger now. Now that gave me something to think of. Should I take diet pill?

: Looking at The Sky on Friday : Along Katipunan

Photobucket

These are the clouds formation on the sky photo above Katipunan-Aurora Avenue area just near the flyover. Had some shots while traveling to our church. Yeah I'm on a moving car and I'm lucky to capture some shots. I've picked this one because the cables are fewer in this shot.

Bathroom Renovation

Lately I’ve noticed that some of our kitchen and bathroom fixtures needed some attention as most of them are old and needed replacement. I think I should go over those things when I get my vacation from work. I told hubby about this and we’re planning not only to replace those fixtures but to renovate the whole bathroom itself.

I would be able to monitor the renovation after my resignation because I’ll work home soon. It would be nice to search and select new fixtures for our bathroom. As early as now I’m looking at some Moen faucet and some attractive tiles to use in the renovation, I still have to find some other things needed but for now I’m quite impressed by what I see online samples of bathroom essentials in faucet.com. They carry various styles, designs and finishes just good for your specific requirements in your kitchen and bathroom. I want to have it in my own bathroom too.

The Most Popular Kind of Fasting

For those people who feel the urge and need to fast I can recommend the fruit-juice fast which is the most popular and the least dangerous of all. I discussed in my previous posts about the dangers of fasting on your own, consultation is a must before you start your own.

In fruit-juice fast the person drinks large amounts of water and a moderate amount of fruit juice. When I say fruit juice I mean the natural juice extracted from fruits not the diluted ones. Some fasters mix water with fruit juice. Some eat nothing but fruits and vegetables to be a fast, but a real fast involves eating no solid at all. Actually I’ve seen my MIL do a similar kind of fast but she chose to eat all fruits only which I noticed did lots of good on her body not to slim down but to help push bad toxins away.

Just a reminder to all never ever fast without drinking lots of water! Remember what the science teachers taught us in our good school days, your body can do without food for a day or two but it can never survive without water for an entire day. This is the reason that some earthquake victims lasted for few days without food but survived only on intake of rainfall.

Fasting can cause fatigue, irritability, anemia, weakness and other disorders so be very careful with your fasting. Use your old common sense that if you start feeling ill knock it off and have something to eat just be sure it’s light like some fruit to get something for your digestion slowly and lightly. Now before you start your fasting is sure that you’re not under stress and under tight working schedule or you might faint! I should think this over also for myself, seems like I’ve never done this for years now!

Facts About Fasting

I’ve been told by my MIL that the best way to shed excess toxins from the body is to fast. But fasting is not so easy to do, it’s tough. You have to impose discipline will power. And if you’re busy and very active in your life it can add stress to your schedule. So you should never try to fast if you are under stress and have important work to do. Find time for yourself when you can spare a few days of rest and start fasting. It will clean out your body but you should start for no more than 24 hours. Then you can follow it up to 3 to 5 days. Be aware that you should practice first before venturing into 3-5 days fasting.

Be sure to consult your doctor before you start your fasting. He knows the best time for you to start your fasting. Now if your doctor agreed with your plan you can start immediately. Fasting will help your body systems such as circulation, digestion, sleep and mental acuity. As you get into your fast you can feel spiritual surges flowing in your stream or some kind of loving energy within you. Another good thing about it is that it relieves stress, depression, mental anxiety and promotes a wonderful feeling of well being inside your body. I’ll publish another post for those interested in the kinds of fasting that one should try for them.

Vacation Break From Work

After long hours of working in my PC I felt the need for a quick and relaxing rest in the bed with soft pillows to caress my head from a slight headache. That’s the only side effect I’ve been getting from prolonged exposure to computer. All my life I’ve been working with PC in front of me and I can stay for 24 hours or more online without so much of a fuss. But now if I stay for more than 10 hours online without resting I felt a slight headache, maybe it’s because I’m not getting any younger and I should be on a health watch these days. Or I can just surmise it as fatigue from overwork and very hectic schedule.

I know I should be careful now with my eating and sleeping habits if I want to stay healthy. I also should give that vacation plan some thoughts so I can relax my mind and body completely. Oh how I would like to take that romantic vacation riviera maya which I found online while browsing for some assignments. Their offers and packages are so great you couldn’t resist it. It would be nice to rest in the white-sand beaches of Mexico. Overworked mommy and daddy should really give themselves some break as nice as this one.

Preventive Measures

We were informed by the school about their directives on handling this current prevailing swine flu disease. They asked the parents that if their children are already suffering from fever and some signs of flu it’s better to let the children stay at home to prevent transfer of sickness. This A(H1N1) virus can be transmitted through air the reason why schools are very careful with cases of fever and flu. If the children get sick in school they will be quarantined in one room until their parents arrived to take them home. Children were also instructed to bring alcohol and soap. It’s their precautionary measures to prevent other children from getting the virus and every one should adhere to their new guidelines.

For me their restrictions and guidelines are just right for the prevailing disease around the globe. It’s hard to acquire that disease and those found with this kind of disease gets hospitalized. That’s where hardship begins because it will take you days to be there. I don’t want to stay long in the hospital. It always reminds me of the times when my father gets hospitalized and he complained of dextrose and catheters attached to his body. I don’t like the smell of different medicines and alcohol. My friend would always tell me that I will not be eligible to be a doctor or nurse because of my attitude. Anyway I’m not in that field so there’s nothing to say about it. I don’t want my kids to be hospitalized so I follow some measures for disease prevention and of course prayers are the ultimate protection for them

Be Optimistic

To achieve a positive attitude or to be an optimistic person you must work on your relationship with others. You must learn how to accept other people for what they are. Don’t try to change or control them. The change has to be in you. You must learn how to share your feelings, communicate and open up your heart to them. You can always join a support group that encourages sharing feelings. If you’re not the type accustomed to opening up your heart and sharing your feelings you can practice it, it would take a bit of work but it’s worth it. The group you’ve joined will be very helpful to you in encouragement part. You can also ask the help of your family and friends – they are the ones who understand you best and make them aware of what you want to do and accomplish.

A Purifying Diet to Eliminate Toxins

I've been asking myself what's the real diet to purify our body from bad toxins? It's also a frequent question now as there are lots of sickness prevailing our community. I've done some research and reading and found that a diet to eliminate toxins should have minimal or no animal products. Animal products can be classified are those food we normally eat these days containing meat from animals like pork, beef and I know this includes the processed ones which are the favorites among many household like tocino, longanisa, bologna, ham and some others. I've learned that excluding this product will reduce the amount of saturated fat you take in. Fat is one of the primary storage vessels for harmful substances in your body.

What people should be eating are fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds that is if you're not suffering from gout or arthritis if I many say. If you have sickness like these just eat fruits and select your vegetables. These will provide us all the needed nutrition in our body and will supply us a high fiber diet, which is a must and an essential in eliminating unwanted substances from our intestines.

Pursuing My Dream

For the past years I’ve wanted to enroll in a course totally different from my college degree for the reason that I want to enhance my knowledge on some other fields of study aside from what I learned in college. Actually even if my course in college is Computer Engineering my dream is to take up Chemical Engineering and Journalism.

Due to my desire to land a job right after college I took up computer course to ensure great opportunities in applying for a job. True to my objective I was easily hired even before my graduation day and I enjoyed all my jobs thereafter. Now that I’ve been to numerous jobs and different fields I want to return to my dream and school mba seems to be a great way for me to achieve that. Online study is just the right place for me as I don’t have plenty of time to enroll in a regular post graduate school. Now I’m thinking seriously about this plan of mine.
