I'm Touched!

For the past two weeks I must say I haven’t been able to reciprocate visitors of my sites due to very tight schedules. That was the last few days of my work as I left my 16 year-old job to be a WAHM, a work at home Mom to concentrate on my family and just do some freelance writing to earn income. I decided to leave my very stable job to spend more quality time with my family especially my three kids. I’ve filed my resignation more than a year ago but was asked to extend my time leading to this very late period of extensive work.

I left the company with a light heart and my boss told me to come and visit them whenever I want. He has also offered a part-time consultancy before but I was in doubt if I could manage some days off my family. It was a hard decision for me to leave my job but I’m very happy with the result as God has confirmed it to me. I had my last day last Friday and my employers prepared a nice despedida for me for which I’m very touched and felt that indeed I’ve been a part of their lives. They keep telling me that for some month and on my despedida I’m so touched. I’m leaving the company with much gratefulness to them and to God for making my resignation wonderful.

Caring for Our Skin

Skin on our face says a lot about ourselves especially the age, it determines how old we are or how we take care of our skin. Some women past the age of 50 resort to facial surgery just to hide the wrinkles and lines brought about by the natural aging of the skin. My Mom wouldn’t have it. She maintains her skin unblemished and yet free from doctor’s touch. She’s a simple woman and she never uses anything on her face just to have healthy and glowing skin. She has natural beautiful skin.

As we were brought up being simple and natural on maintaining our skin we just use moisturizers in the morning to prevent our skin from the harmful effects of sun. My auntie gave me a night cream from her vacation in New Jersey and instructed me to use it for my skin regeneration because I’ve reached the age where skin should be cared for properly or else it will show signs of aging. Actually I’m not that bothered but when I tried her cream I was amazed at how it made my face super soft and smooth. Elders really know best!

This is the riverbed full of big rocks that water flows over. It's nice to see different colors, shapes and kinds of rocks here in Mindoro river. It's always a refreshing sight especially on summer days. I lived in the province for 7 years and we also have this kind on Laguna river. Though this sight is so beautiful it's also dangerous for children.

I'll Start Now

It’s the start of my life outside the office world and will just work at home to do some paid writing. Now I can start on my planned diet menu of eating fruits, vegetables and fish. I’ll have to limit my intake of meat if I want to really shed unwanted pounds. Shedding and taking off some pounds is not all for looking good only but for health reasons as well.

If you’re underweight or overweight you’re most likely to acquire sickness so it’s best to attain an ideal weight for your age and built. I’m reading some diet pill reviews and I learned a lot from those statements but I’m also enlightened by my brother’s diet plan of eating without rice. It suits him as he’s slowly shedding some pounds. Last year I’ve done a plan similar to him and my weight decreased, if only I’ve maintained that and continued with my proper eating habit I wouldn’t have a problem now. Ok it’s not late for me so I better start now.

This is the sky I saw atop our new rented room in one of the buildings in Kamias. It's past 6pm here when I took the shot. It's so beautiful seeing all those buildings in Cubao and Ortigas and sky just starting to darken, that's the advantage of being on top of the building.

I Love Photos

I remember when I was a kid that an uncle of mine used to take pictures of me always. He’s a photographer and I always watch him when he develops the pictures in his studio which I noted as a dark room. Photography way back then was manual, you used a manual camera and you develop the picture in a dark room so the film won’t be exposed. Now it’s a different thing with digital camera and digital printing. It’s easier now as you’ll have a chance to choose your best shot before you print it. I also love taking pictures that’s why I want to start learning about photography. In photography you have to know the perfect angles, lightings and models. It’s important to take into details the color of your shots and the background images. There are lots of things to remember, understand and learn when you really want to be good in photography.

Learning photography is also another way of enhancing your sites as people love to visit sites that features different places, people and photos. It adds excitement to my blogs that’s why I devote some of my time learning about it. For me photos can make stories so I love adding them in all of my sites. Sometimes when I run out of my own personal shots and I want beautiful photos I visit site that offers free photo sharing. It always brings a smile on my face whenever I see splendid shots; those pictures that spells magic like sunset, sky and all nature shots. I love sceneries that are why I love them.

Lunch With My Boss

Last Friday I had lunch with my boss with two of my former colleagues in Design Science, Engr.Daclison and James. I’m having my lunch in the office pantry when my boss peeked in and asked me to have lunch with him and the seniors in DSI. As he’s going somewhere I presumed this is the last day that I’m going to see him before I finally leave my post in his company, might as well treat this one as my final lunch with him. We first went to Causeway (his favorite) but we’re on the waiting list there so we walked to Outback. I asked him if we’re really going to eat there as it’s the competitor of his Tender Bob’s steak house. He told me it’s ok to taste the food there.

The lunch meeting was like a memory lane as we recall the former employees of Design Science and how the business started. Actually I was thinking on how I can possibly take my photos on food lol! Ok when he saw taking one shot of the baked chocolate bread he asked me if I’m studying photography. I told him I was into weekly meme of food photos. Btw he already knows about my blogs and that’s the reason he finally let me go because he’s fully convinced that I can earn income from it. They asked me how much I earn from it but my answer is ‘secret’ and we all laughed at my joke.

Gosh I’m going to miss lunch meeting like this but I’m happy now with my decision so I think it’s just one of those things that you feel nostalgic about. We ate green salad, baby back ribs, beef burger steak and some side dishes. I like their mango and banana shake. This is getting lengthy so I’m going to share my photos of the place as I’m going to post the food on my other blog ‘My Crossroads’ on Friday.

I'm Happy To Go

I’m counting my last days in the office and every time I passed our security officer in the building I always tell him how many days more before my last day. I’m really looking forward to next week when I can start to live the life of a WAHM (work-at-home mom) and devote more quality time with my family especially with my kids who are all growing up fast now. They really need my time and attention and I’m glad I’ve decided about it early last year. Though it took a long time for my resignation to materialize I’m happy enough that I’ve given ample time to my boss for his requested extension and I’ll leave my work in good terms with them. As I had my farewell lunch with him last Friday I’m happy to go.
