Preparing the Car for the Camp Meeting

We’re preparing ourselves for our yearly December camp meeting fellowship. Lately we had some church meetings reminding us the things we should prepare on our most awaited camp meeting. We have to reserve the usual place we’re staying for three to four days and we’ve saving up for that. Next month our pastor will go to Villa Dominga Forest Resort to pay for our down payment. The owner of the place became our friend after more than 2 years of hiring the place and she wants our group to occupy their place always because when we’re there the villa changes from a lonely to a lively place. They have companions too on Christmas season. It’s a 4-hectare lot and when you’re the only family on a big villa on holidays it feels quite lonely.

Anyway back to preparation, we talked about the basic essentials and our transportation on that event. We will have 6 vehicles to accommodate us all. Last time we’re there we just joined one vehicle because we’re not prepared with our car. We’re not confident that our car will be able to carry us through the long travel. Now we have my brother’s car again and we started gearing it up for the big event on December. We’re checking all that’s important in the car including batteries, brakes, clutch, wiper and some other minor parts. Sometimes December give us rain showers and we’re thinking of having rain guards to make driving through rain more manageable. It’s also safer to have them especially through a zigzag or winding roads which we will be passing through on our travel.

With the accessories that we’ll need I’m canvassing as early as now to avoid rushing through the holiday season. I found CARiD.com which sells automotive accessories online with their superstore based in NJ. You’ll be glad to see automotive products for interior and exterior styling, comfort and performance.

School Preventive Measures

My little boy came home from school last week with notes from the school administration about health awareness. They have written instructions that all students should wear their PE uniform every day until further notice from them. I was alarmed immediately and asked the school administration if there were occurrences of dengue in the school. The school staff told me that it’s only a precautionary measure because kids will be more protected if they wear jogging pants. I’m just making sure that my little boy will not in any way be subject to danger of having dengue. It’s better to have preventive measures than having to incur diseases.

With paranoia about dengue these days and various sickness occurring in the kids I suddenly thought of searching for the best insurance quotes about health. It’s easier to bear sickness if we’re prepared with health insurance which will make our financial burden lighter. Of course with many agencies offering insurances I should get the most affordable so as not to affect my budget.

Here's one pose from my little boy wearing his PE uniform.

Kids Need Guidance

I was talking to my co-Moms who were also waiting for their kids to finish with the journalism competition. We’re sharing about the importance of having the support and guidance of mothers to their kids especially on their adolescent years. One Mom was so sad sharing the life of his neighboor friend who in the midst of too much poverty went abroad to work. She can’t go home for a vacation as often as others because her salary is not that high and her job demands more time with the family she serve for. Now her kids are seen frequenting the mall and smoke shop and no family relative is stern enough to declare discipline on the house.

Both kids of her friend suddenly became so lazy cutting time on their classes and tried to avoid attending them. It’s a pity that their Mom is sacrificing her happiness just to let them live a better life. I know she wants them to finish college too but with the way they’re treating their studies now I don’t think they can even pass secondary education. If only someone would tell their mothers to end her job abroad and take care of her kids before it’s too late.

Found my Buddy in FB

I had a dinner again with my college friends and this time more of them joined in as our meeting place was in Makati where most of them works. We were again back in time especially that my ever loving buddy Betchay finally has found us. We were actually looking for her but she found us out in FB. I really have to thank FB for bridging communications between lost friends. I was so happy that we were reunited again and we talked about our lost years. We have plenty of recaps to do and she told us the story of her life.

She has survived many ordeals and now she has learned many things about life like saving up finances and investing. She’s starting to invest now to secure her finances as she’s financing the education of her siblings’ 10 kids. I forgot to ask her if she knew about gold coins investment because she might be interested to add it to her existing ones. She’s always interested on any form of business or investments that will guarantee a high return of profit because she’s a good businesswoman and she knows how to deal with it.

:Looking at the Sky on Friday #93: Mall Sunset

Photobucket

This is a shot from the mall's parking space last Tuesday when we dropped by to buy our little boy his own pick of toys for his 7th birthday.  We went to Twiddledee in Evet Ortigas and let Josh choose from among the toys there. We arrived at around 5pm and this view greeted us, glad I've brought my cam with me even if my battery is giving me low signals.  I love the small splashes of yellow orange on the grey clouds.

I love sky watching wherever my cam takes me. It makes me very thankful of God's wonderful creations.  Visit more beautiful sky photos just click on the badge above!

The Back to School Test

You Are an Average Achiever

You are fairly driven, but the big win always seems a bit beyond your reach. You lack intense passion.

You are most likely to succeed if you are working with other talented people. You thrive on a team.

Your greatest skill is organization. You are good at laying out a plan and making sure it gets followed.

Your biggest stumbling block in life is your lack of self confidence. You are a lot more capable than you give yourself credit for.

You're so thankful for everything in your life. It's hard for you to pick just one thing.

That's me when I was young, I could have made it more if I'm not that shy.  Well it didn't last for long and after my first job I was ready to face any challenge that came my way.  Since I've overcome my shy attitude I excelled in my jobs and for me that can be called success because I was able to conquer my fears.  I did it with perseverance and a lot of discipline.  If there's one thing that my boss can speak best of me it's my being trustworthy and patience in work.

Roofing and Slating

I’ve attended the homeroom meeting of my eldest kid and saw my brother and SIL on the way out. I went with them when brother visited his residential project in the village. I saw how the construction has improved a lot since I last saw it and it looks like a big duplex house with two gates only. I was asking my brother if he has used slate roofing on his house project because the roofing of the house looks very durable. I’ve noticed that it looks very different from the other houses around the village.

Every time I see my brother’s project I’m always attracted at the new designs and styles he’s applying in all his projects. Sometimes I go with him when he visits the big warehouse for construction supplies like electrical, lighting, plumbing, tiles and bathroom fixtures. Of course I always searched for discounted tiles as we’re planning to have our flooring replaced this year. I was looking at the selection of slate tile and I’m beginning to like it.

I saw some attractive designs and I’m making a detailed budget for it. Glad I’ve found Virginia Slate Company which offers a complete line of quality slate tiles at competitive prices. They have professional staff that customizes each order and a reliable customer service that will attend to all inquiries.

Buying Printer Cartridges Online

If you want to save some bucks for your printing needs and accessories you can search online for sites that offer affordable prices and toner refill kits. I visited Printer-Cartridges.com, one of the Internet’s largest distributors of toner for cartridge laser printer models and found out that I could have saved a lot of money if I had bought online for my ink cartridges. The site offers wide range of products for all printing needs such as laser printer cartridge, toner cartridges, ink refill kits, refill accessories, replacement chips, bulk toner and more. I really did some checking on the brands they have before ordering.

Here in the house we do a lot of printing for the kids’ school work and daily assignments. It’s the two younger kids that seek my assistance every now and then because I never let them print their assignments on their own to prevent future malfunction of the printer. With the kind of activities we have involving computer printing works it’s vital to keep reserved printer cartridges inks so we will not be rushing to a supply store even if expensive. This is easy because you can save also when you order products from $49 and above because you’ll be able to avail their free shipping promo on top of good service. No need to worry about the quality of their products because each product comes with a full year guarantee.

Learning About Hydraulic Rams, Pneumatic Valves & Compressed Air Dryer

When I was still in college it was easier for me to understand some of the things that complicates me now like the other things in life very far from being a Mom or those that’s outside my working experience and profession. When it comes to things like driving and keeping our car in good running condition I leave that thing to dear hubby who will not frown when asked about automotive or mechanical terms like Pneumatic valves or other terms that’s way out of my scope of Mommy duties.

I graduated from engineering course and had taken up all areas of Engineering aside from my computer course but it’s all behind me now. After two decades after graduation I’m more inclined to know about telecommunications, technical proposal and accounting because that’s my working experiences. If would ask me about Compressed air dryer I would just tell that they prevent microbes, rusting and corrosion. It’s a wonder that the things you learned in school sometimes vanishes like air.

Sometimes I get to learn things from my brother because he’s into construction business and he would ask me to search for his required motors and products for his projects. I browsed online for electric motors that he needs and I came upon Fremont Industrial Supply, a distributor of high quality pneumatic valves, Hydraulic rams, air line preparation components, air line tubing and fittings, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic valves, electric motors and other power transmission components. They’ve been with the business for several years which they devote on delivering their services with quality, affordability and good service coupled with good customer assistance. It’s good to learn new things by patiently searching and reading and in the process I helped my brother also.

Ink Refill

We’re a frequent user of computers and printer because I have three schooling kids and DH is studying too. I bought my own laptop before the school opening so I can work without interruption because they have their own desktop computers; one was our old desktop which I’ve used previously and another one from my sister who gave it to my kids so they can use it any time they want for their assignments. She’s happy with her notebook which she bought along with my laptop. Every day one of my kids would need printing for their research assignments, reports or simply images that need for cutting and pasting. With the high cost of our printer’s original inks I’m thinking of getting an ink refill kit to cut on some ink expenses. Anyway I’ve visited Printer-Cartridges.com, one of the Internet’s largest distributors of toner for cartridge laser printer models and saw the instructions for refilling ink. It’s a Do-It-Yourself guide and it’s so easy to follow.

It’s nice visiting the site as it has wide variety of quality printer and ink products for the clients to choose from including 300 brands which will enable you to find one that’s suitable for your printer. They have laser printer cartridge, ink cartridges, toner cartridges, ink & toner refill kits, refill accessories, replacement chips, printer ribbons, bulk toner and a lot more. You’ll find everything you need for your printing requirements all in one stop shop. Their prices are very affordable and come with a full one year guarantee. Shipping is free on all orders over $45.
