Stories from the Old Folks

When I hear conversation about gold I remember the folks in my Mom’s hometown province. I remembered them well when they talked over coffee about the years of war times and how the foreign soldiers buried their gold treasures under the ground. They’re talking about it because one of the town folks was rumoured to have sold a gold bar to a buyer of precious metals and the money he got from it was used to built his new house. As a kid I thought it was just like what I saw in television but now reality sets in that the story I heard was true. After we moved out and transferred to my father’s hometown near the city we would hear same stories of precious metals and jewelleries being found under the ground. Those lucky fellows are those who have inherited the land from their ancestors, the land which was used by the foreign soldiers to hide their treasures.

Now those stories were told from generation to generation but I still have to find out if all those stories were true. In this generation you don’t have to hide them under the ground but you can buy and have it stored safely in the bank or you can keep them until it appreciates value. I Love it Here!

My friend who is now living in California would sometimes ask me if I want to live and work abroad. Of course I would always say no because I'm one of the small percentage of Filipinos who love living here despite the struggling economy, some undisciplined countrymen and the known corruption. If there are bad things there are more good things in life here. The simple pleasures in life that you cannot buy like the frequent salo-salo of families where visitors doesn’t have to inform that they’re coming and still they will be served as if they had reservation lol! I remember seeing some old folks in the farm having some funny moments while sipping their black coffee. They seem to forget the time. Time is not running out on them (such an envy). There are other simple things that I know I will not be able to do if I live somewhere else. It’s quite hard living here but I still love my own! This country may not be the best but I know I’ve got the best people around me. I love my family, relatives, friends in school and work, online friends and my life here.

Guide in Essay Writing

Students normally excel in some subjects but will have a hard time in one subject. This is true to one of my friends who was a popular contestant in many Math school contest when he was in primary and secondary school. We call him Math wizard but when it comes to Literature and Writing it’s a different tune as he find it so hard to construct a one-page essay. Well skills and knowledge are not given only to one person and we’re not a bunch of genius kids so it’s understandable that we have our own weaknesses in learning school subjects. When you reach tertiary education you will be required to write an essay and to start with you should know the right college essay topic to start the essay correctly. Writing essay is not done without planning as you’ll have to do an essay outline in order that you’ll have an organized pattern for writing. Organized writing with focused ideas make a good essay and you’ll also find it easy to think what’s to be write first if you have an outline. A good introduction is vital as with other forms of writing also. I’ve experience it when I’m writing. Just as soon as I’ve written a good introduction I noticed that ideas and words will flow perfectly from my mind. The body of your essay will benefit from a nice introduction and if you conclude your essay with good parting words you can be assured that you’ve made a good essay.

You should also bear in mind that categories in your topic should be well organized also to make a good classification essay in which all things necessary to write about your topic should be noted down and discussed. When all of these things needed to write an essay are carefully studied student can easily make even just a simple one and when you really need some help you can search for essay samples online.

The Missing Pencils

Here goes my little boy again. He lost his pencil again and it’s becoming a normal case now. I’ve talked with his teacher last month to help me with this problem and now it’s happening again. Last week his classmate pointed me where his other pencils are and the boy who got it returned the pencils to him. Now my little boy told me that his classmate borrowed those pencils to him. Maybe he didn’t want to embarrass his classmate. Oh boy! Hope with my discovery of that this frequent cases will stop because I don’t want to make an issue out of this. Now his notebook is missing and it’s supposed to be with his teacher. I’ll go again to his school this afternoon to follow up his notebook and hope I’ll get a positive answer. Their notebooks were bought from the school so it’s not that easy to replace it. Anyway it’s not his fault so I’m not forced to replace it. Meanwhile Josh brought temporary notebook to write on.

Education is an Investment

I attended a seminar in my little boy’s school and there were many good speakers but there’s one speaker that I remembered very well now. He said that having our children enrolled in a good school with Christian values is a very good decision. He cited some common terms of parents saying that educating children is very expensive. The speaker told us that education may be expensive but we should take it as an investment and not as expense. This is true because if you have sent your kids to good school they will experience quality education that will see them through finishing their career course and eventually find a good paying job. Just like when we invest our money on stable things like precious metals or gold bullion. It will not be an expense but a good solid investment that will give a high return of investment after several years. It can also be one of your best collections.

I think it's my second daughter Gen, she looks like me but prettier of course :-), she acts like me when I was a kid, dress like me and really much like me as told by my family, relatives and friends

3. What is something you really want right now?
I want to have our master bedroom and kitchen renovated....We want to vacate our bedroom in the ground floor to get ready for the stormy and flood days.

4. What are you doing this weekend?
Working and planning my little boy's 7th birthday on the 5th of Sept. Working up on some new snack recipes.

5. Are you in a good mood? If yes, Why?
Yes, because my work is at its peak and we're cooking up something new in the kitchen.  It's a long weekend ahead of us.  Monday is a holiday.

6. Do you have an ex that you are pretty sure thinks about you a lot?
Nope, DH is my first and last love.

7. What's one thing you wish you could do but can't?
Take a vacation in Baguio but they said it's not advisable on rainy days because the road may be a little bit dangerous.
