Introducing LeadershipPlenty®

LeadershipPlenty® is a program developed by the Pew Partnership for Civic Change for people who want to work with others to take action in their communities. It is designed for people from different backgrounds and occupations who want to participate more effectively in community problem solving. It is free and open to teens and adults.

The 25 hour training covers 9 modules. Topics will include identifying community assets, managing conflict, planning for action, managing groups, making meetings work better, creating partnerships, measuring results, and race relations. To see a sample module, click here. To learn more, see the LeadershipPlenty Q&A page.

The intensive training is being held on 5 Saturdays: April 21 and 28, May 12 and 19, and June 2, 9:30 am-2:30 pm. (Participants who missed the first session will be able to attend a make-up session at a later date, if they want to receive a certificate of completion at the end of the series. New participants will not be accepted after April 28, and late registrants will be expected to commit to the remaining sessions.) The classes are being held at the Mossyrock Community Center.

LeadershipPlenty® training is available to anyone within the East Lewis County area that is interested, on a space available basis. Gas cards are available to help with transportation, and funds for child and elder care can be provided if needed. Our three certified community trainers -- Lynn Hamilton, Chris Lambert, and Paul Stewart -- will also be available to present the program to other communities later this year at no charge.
